Advance voting concludes in 2007 Finnish parliamentary election
Advance voting for Finland's 2007 Eduskunta election has concluded, and the Ministry of Justice elections website reports a total of 1,193,292 electors - 29.2% of the electorate resident in Finland - voted in advance of the March 18 poll, up from 1,044,607 (26%) in the 2003 parliamentary election.Advance voting stations were open in Finland on March 7-13, and abroad on March 7-10.
Meanwhile, Finland's national broadcaster YLE reports a total of 27,432 Finns cast their ballots in this year's advance voting abroad. According to the Ministry of Justice, 208,887 Finns living abroad were entitled to vote in the election.
